Kitesurfing Gear
You wonder whick kite and which board you should buy? Good question, there are a lot of kites, also for beginners. If you still have to buy some kite's or something this page could save a lot of time and money!
Step 1: Controlling the Kite
Many people think kitesurfing is a really dangerous sport, there are a couple of accidents per year but its only dangerous when you are not in control of your kite. There are many people who are kitesurfing but still can't control there kite. So it's really important that you excercise a lot with only your kite till you're sure u can control the kite. An other important thing about the sport is that you need to get over the fear. You can only learn kitesurfing if, even when you're scared to make that turn or jump with too much wind, if you do what you where scared for. Because in the end you still want to learn how to kitesurf. An other thing is that sometimes you've got to get over your fear but you also don't want to rush, because that may end wrong.
The best way to understand the kite is to go practice with a (old) kite in the water, very import, in the water. The bad accidents always happen on the land. So make sure you're in the water when you practice and try to keep 20/50 meter space around you.
Turn the kite around, move him to 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock, those positions are the most safe, on this place's there is less power in the kite than in the power zone. Try to loop sometimes and feel the power of the kite. With enough wind it will pull you throught the water a couple of meters but thats fine. This part is important, you have to understand and control the kite, this means that you have to understand the power you are dealing with, so make sure you make a couple of loops if you're practicing.
See te button below for the Power zone, safety system and the Kite.

The Power zone
The Kite has certain power zone's. i will explain this with the image on the right. The kite has 3 different levels of power in the low, medium and the strong power zone. When there is heavy wind it is safe to be careful in the strong power zone, definitely when you are overpowered.
